9Feb Faculty of Technical Sciences Smart Factory Workshop by Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Rikalovic Workshops The Faculty of Technical Sciences hosted partners from Tarkett and Mitsubishi Electric, where the vision of presenting the Smart Factory concept. The workshop lasted three days. The first day of the Faculty of Technical Sciences held the workshop at the University of Novi Sad, where the basics of Smart Factory were presented, with an emphasis on Industrial Big Data Analytics using Edge Computing. The second day was the training of the Faculty of Technical Sciences team for the use of the MELIPC 5000 industrial computer. Christian Nomine held the workshop with an emphasis on data collection using the Real-time Flow Designer software. The MELIPC 5000 computer was pre-configured where it is connected to Mitsubishi Electric’s PLC for the purpose of producing the artificial signals necessary to create a database. After that, the database should be processed using several different programs which are the software solution of the industrial computer MELIPC 5000. The third day of the workshop was dedicated to the visit to the Tarkett manufacturing system, where the possibility of implementing the Edge Computing solution was discussed, as well as defining the Development of Smart Factory project.
